CAN USERS MODIFY, RESELL OR TRANSFER PRODUCTS ONCE THEY PURCHASE AND DOWNLOAD IT?
All products sold are non-transferable, thus users cannot redistribute your product or variations without you granting a Licence to do so. However, TheGameDevStore.com promotes community-driven asset mods and facilitates the sales of modifications in a fashion that is profitable to you.
Mods
Users can create Add-ons, Accessories, Extensions and Plugins compatible with your Product and sell them separately only in TheGameDevStore.com Marketplace. We refer to these collectively as ‘Mods’ which must maintain a dependent relationship to your product and cannot fully function alone.
Example:
For example, lets say you sell a Skinned Model. A user may create new skins for your model. They are only allowed to sell the new skins independently as add-ons to the original model. They cannot include the original skin nor model in the package.
This creates a dependency on the original model for the new skins to be applied. This also creates an opportunity for bundles. Overall Mod Dependencies promotes more sales for the original model and more choices for Buyers.
Alts
Modifications applied directly to your product, which cannot be sold separately are referred to as Alterations (‘Alts’). TheGameDevStore.com can facilitate Users selling Alts by providing a Subvendors License. A Subvendor License is a simple contract between you and the subvendor to split the profit from the sale of the ‘Alt’. TheGameDevStore.com. The percentages Split ratio can vary between you and subvendor and are applied to the Sale price of the product.
Due to the additional preparation required Administrative fees are applied.
